There was an interesting article in an early November issue of The Courier Mail’s Home magazine. It profiles a young first home buyer, and describes how she went about it:
I spent a month researching, looking on the internet and getting up at the crack of dawn to get the paper and make a list of open houses.
… I’m very independent and I enjoyed doing it (house hunting) by myself. I didn’t set foot in an estate agency the whole time I was looking.”
If you’re selling your home, take note: one of the most important things you can do is to get a good listing on the internet at realestate.com.au, because that’s where people are doing their searching. If your home looks attractive on the net, you’ll get them in.
