Property Styling:

At Highshots Photography, we're very particular about every home we photograph. That's why a stylist and a photographer can be in attendance at a Highshots photo shoot (not available for a Basic Shoot or Basic Evening Shoot).

A photographer working on their own can be kept pretty busy ensuring that they get the best possible shot. They'll consider the lighting in the room, the bright sun shining outside the window, and how they will compose the image. The stylist, however, is simply focused on presenting the home in such a way that it looks terrific. They are, in many ways, the make-up artist for the property. Working in tandem, the stylist and the photographer can achieve the best possible result.

What does the stylist do?

The stylist will certainly correct the big things that need changing, such as removing a pile of clutter from the kitchen bench. But they can also correct those little things that need a bit of tweaking, such as rearranging the cushions on the lounge, or setting up a small collection of perfume bottles in a bathroom.  We'll even move the furniture around, so long as we can lift it!

It is these little touches of brilliance that Highshots is known for, and although the changes are small, the impact can be quite dramatic.

Have decorative items, will travel

The Highshots Photography teams also have a collection of two or three suitcases full of decorative items that we keep in the car for little emergencies. These can easily be used in empty homes, where the addition of just a few simple props around the kitchen or across a mantlepiece can really help.

However, they can also be used in furnished homes where you need something to fill an empty space. We might bring in a large plate piled high with fruit to place on a kitchen bench, add some fresh towels to the ensuite, or line up a few candles with a wine bottle and a couple of glasses on the table on the deck.

Styling, not cleaning

Although we do style the home, this is different to cleaning a home. The more homeowners can do to present their property in a clean and neat way, the better, because sometimes there is only so much we can do.
