There are calls from the Liberal backbench in Canberra to lift the first home owners’ grant to $15,000.

Mr Ciobo also said that the Government could afford the increase, and that it would not unnecessarily push the market up. Maybe he’s right, at least initially … though I’m sure that over a few months the increased grant will push up the price of homes in the lower price range as more first home buyers come onto the market.
